Here are three fake reviews I made up. I mean the movie hasn’t come out yet, sooo… In the process, I hope they give you a sense of what this project is about.
“Pushes the envelope, audacious, aesthetic. A critique of modernity and the Puritanism that should be in the dustbin of history already.”
-Cosmopolis Magazine

“Erotica that has fantasy, dance, comedy, and a love story? How weird!”
-Entertainment Now!
“A story about the marriage of sex and soul (and what happens when we follow the heart).”
-Montaigne Post

Toulmin mentions an interesting essay by Renaissance philosopher Michel de Montaigne called “The Apology of Raymond Sebond.” I stole the phrase (and theme of) “marriage of body and soul” from Montaigne. In case you’re curious, here’s his essay. (Warning: It’s his longest essay.)
(Another essay relevant to the story theme is “On Some Verses of Virgil.” Curious title for an essay on sex, I know)
Here’s a little Joseph Campbell on a related theme to following the heart:
(Posters ideas, trailers, and where to watch the movie… in case you’re curious.)
